Capitol Hill might be the most popular area of Seattle for dining and nightlife. The fact that it’s also a gay epicenter, with a dozen gay bars, makes the neighborhood that much better.

While looking at carousels online, we found a spectacular antique wooden one in Hampton, Virginia, just a short road trip from our house.

Loudoun now has more than 50 wineries and tasting rooms in stunning settings from river-crossed valleys to mountain slopes. Taking experimental cues from Lew, our acclaimed winemakers produce everything from Albariño, Bordeaux and Chardonnay to Norton, Tannat, Viognier and so much more.

Sebring, Avon Park, and Lake Placid remind me why I love Florida. Rolling hills, citrus groves, placid lakes, and small towns take me back. And there is art. Miles and miles of art.
