Hillcrest, San Diego

Located just a few minutes north of Downtown San Diego, Hillcrest sits in the heart of the city, offering an eclectic mix of bars, restaurants, coffee houses, boutiques and specialty shops that can’t be found elsewhere. Hillcrest has long been recognized as San Diego’s queer community, and is celebrated for its pedestrian-friendly streets and incredible dining scene. The colorful, vibrant and diverse neighborhood has continuously transformed over the years but has always maintained its unique queer factor. Hillcrest is an older neighborhood, where many of the streets are lined with trees. There are Craftsman homes and Mid-Century Modern condo buildings that give the neighborhood a vintage architectural feel.
